Break dancing, also known as Breaking or B-Boying that originated in the streets of New York in the early 70s. Break dancing like everything else has individual styles and that originate from the towns that people come from. There are specific styles that originated from certain cities and one is able to tell where a b-boy is from. However due to the internet and Youtube, there is a trend in being an internet b-boy. An internet b-boy is someone who learned how to break through the internet as a result of learning off the internet, they lack a unique style to them and they then have a more generic style of b-boying that shows no representation of the region that they are from. each persons style is determined by the power, abstract, blow-up and flavor of the moves.
Power is the part that makes the moves feel like they are defying gravity.
Abstract consists of the footwork and how the moves flow with the beat.
Blow-up would be the “wow” factor of the moves that would also include the sequence that the moves are done in.
Flavor would be moves that focus more on freezes and would be more focused on the beat and music rather than relying on power moves.
